Dr. Kat Kachejian

MEET DR. KAT Kachejian
People often ask me how I knew I wanted to become a veterinarian. I consider myself one of the lucky few who knew what they wanted to do in kindergarten and never strayed from that dream. My love and dedication to all animals made it a very easy career choice. I am beyond blessed to get to go to work every day and be surrounded by the lovely, innocent, and truly magical four-legged friends so many of us call family.
I graduated summa cum laude from Virginia Tech with a B.S. in Animal and Poultry Sciences. I then attended Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine where I received my DVM and graduated summa cum laude. While at LSU, I received the honor of being elected into the Phi Zeta Society for academic excellence in the field of Veterinary Medicine. I was fortunate enough to become exposed to integrative medicine early in my academic journey. This motivated me to complete my certification in veterinary acupuncture through Chi University while attending LSU.
I have worked at Healing Heart with Dr. Keller as my mentor since 2020, on my breaks from school. I have always felt this clinic provides an outstanding level of care to all patients and their loved ones. A true feat that all veterinary establishments should strive for. Throughout veterinary school I had numerous opportunities to work at other hospitals and clinics, but my heart always brought me back to Healing Heart. I was fortunate enough to be offered a full-time position as a staff veterinarian working alongside Dr. Keller after graduation.
I am beyond excited to continue to foster my skills and knowledge in this field. I am a true believer that practicing integrative medicine through a combination of both traditional/modern and natural/alternative medicines is key to providing the highest standard of care. Working in medicine is a constant journey with new advances and opportunities for further education at every turn. I find this both exciting and motivating! I look forward to sharing my knowledge and love with all the precious animals we have the honor of providing care for!
All the best,
Kathryn Kachejian, DVM, CVA
